The internet bands together to fix woman's last video of her mom
The internet is filled with unspeakable terrors, but every now and then something beautiful happens online.
"Can anyone lipread?" Redditor bridget90 asked the subreddit r/videos. "This is the last video I have before my mom passed away and there's no sound."
SEE ALSO:Manchester Redditor shares heartwarming gift from Muslim neighbourBridget explained in the comment section that she was recently going through an old phone when she discovered the clip. The video actually does have some audio file on it, but it's extremely muffled and very difficult to understand.
Despite its inherently devious tendencies and bad press, the Reddit community usually jumps on the opportunity to help one another. They also love a good mystery.
With some solid teamwork and a little bit of MacGyver engineering, a few Redditors determined that if you crank the audio up on your headphones and place them on your jaw you can make out the conversation a little bit more clearly. The process is actually called bone conduction, and it's used in everything from military technology to hearing aids.
Others fixed the audio the best they could and uploaded fixed versions.
Bridget responded to the top post which had a good chunk of the conversation, thanking the community for banding together to help her.
